Cancelation Policy:

Star Departure baths can be booked in advance or at the time of drop off for daycare and boarding guests. If you decide after 1:00pm that you would like your BFFF to receive a Star Departure bath or any other spa service, we will do our best to accommodate you if the schedule permits. To ensure your BFFF gets the spa treatment they deserve, please select and book your Star-Spa Service at least 48 hours in advance of your desired pick up time. If for some reason you need to cancel any of your Star-Spa treatment(s) there will be a cancelation fee of $20 that will be added to your final bill.

Fleas

In order to maintain a safe, clean and fun environment our staff will check your BFFF for fleas and ticks at the time of intake as well as throughout their stay. If fleas or ticks are discovered see below:

  • Capstar flea medication will be administered. This pill will kill all fleas within 4 hours. There is an additional charge of at least $10 for this treatment, depending on the weight of your pet.
  • If we notice that your pet has fleas, our Star-Spa staff will automatically conduct a $28 Star Departure Bath using flea shampoo and we will notify you of the issue immediately.
Ticks

In the event your pet is found with any number of ticks attached to the skin, a Tick Twister will be deployed by a trained staff member to remove them. We will also notify you of the issue immediately. In the event the staff feels that the removal of the tick(s) becomes a safety issue for the pet, we will discontinue the removal and notify you to come pick up your pet.

Vaccine Requirements for Star-Spa Services

All Star-Spa guests must have proof of a current rabies vaccines. We also require proof of distemper-parvo and Bordetella vaccines and we strongly recommend that your dog is up to date on additional vaccines such as canine influenza to reduce their risk of infectious disease. Star Barks Inn cannot be responsible for any illnesses that may occur.

Behavior

Our Star-Spa providers pride themselves in their ability to work with difficult pets; however, if a pet's behavior becomes unmanageable or unsafe, our staff may choose to do as much of the treatment as they feel safe completing and then stop. This prevents the pet and service provider from becoming too stressed and reduces the risk of injury.

Even if your pet has an incomplete treatment, the price will remain the same.
  • Our service providers may use muzzles, dog collars, or Happie Hoodies to reduce stress and improve safety.
  • Our service providers are always happy to continue working with your pet for future visits, potentially with adjustments in the offered services and prices. If at some point we can no longer provide Star level treatment for your pet we will notify you so you can make other arrangements that are better suited to your BFFF.
  • Matting

Our Star-Spa service providers strive to provide results that are aesthetically pleasing. Sometimes they are unable to provide the desired appearance due to matting, quality/coat type, or shape of your dog. They will contact you with any issues as soon as they arise.

    • Severe matting increases the time and work required to complete a brush out so an additional charge of at least $10 will be added for all dogs with severe matting.
    • Severe matting can be very painful, cause skin issues, and reduce your pet's mobility so our staff will always council you and create a plan on how to remove the matting moving forward.
    • If our staff encounters severe matting when longer coat length is desired, they will contact you with options. Shaving or cutting to a shorter-than-desired length may be the best or only choice to provide a comfortable outcome for your pet and reduce the time and pain of an extended de- matting session. If this is the case, we will refer you to a licensed groomer in the area.
    • Even though our staff is well-trained and educated regarding safe practices and always have your pet's safety and well-being in mind, there are risks associated with spa treatment services.

These include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Adverse reactions to products used, such as shampoos, conditioners, or colognes. Please notify our staff if your pet has experienced any adverse reactions to bathing products in the past.
    • Quicked nails. The risk of a quicked nail(s) increases for pets that struggle to settle or have overgrown nails. If a nail is quicked we will utilize professional clotting powder and notify you of the issue upon pick-up.
